Technology Leaders Ed Gaudet and Mike Miracle Join ProofSpace Advisory Board
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 23, 2007 -- ProofSpace (http://www.proofspace.com), an early-stage software firm with patented trusted-timestamping and data integrity technologies, today announced that respected technology leaders Ed Gaudet, the vice president of product management and marketing at enterprise rights management (ERM) software company Liquid Machines and Mike Miracle, a successful executive alumnus of Veritas, Evident, Hewlett Packard, Novell and Unix Systems Labs, have joined the company's advisory board. The two bring their strategy, business development, strategic alliance and product management experience to the ProofSpace board, which already hosts an impressive collection of business leaders with expertise that spans several key technology markets.
"We are thrilled to have people of Ed and Mike's caliber, experience and energy on our advisory board," said Paul Doyle, CEO of ProofSpace. "Their experience growing successful enterprise software businesses and forging strong OEM partnerships will prove invaluable. We've already been amazed at their energy and hands-on involvement and look forward to working closely with both of them and learning from their unique perspectives."
The company's ProofMark? system, with its patented Transient Key? technology, tags electronic business records with a self-validating cryptographic seal that acts as a "tamper indicator" based on a true and provable time-reference datum. The ProofMark is virtually impossible to manipulate or forge, even by trusted insiders. It offers irrefutable proof that the content of a record has not changed since the ProofMark was applied, no matter where the dataset travels or who controls it at any given time.
"Data authenticity is the next big issue facing the information management industry," said Miracle. "It is no longer simply about installing a firewall and protecting your company from outside intrusion--your data must be secured and protected from internal threats as well. Whether in cases where critical intellectual property is being shared, or where business or medical records are being presented as evidence in a legal matter, organizations need the assurance that their information has not been altered and even more important, the ability to demonstrate it if challenged. ProofSpace gives organizations this assurance."
"ProofSpace's easy-to-use, affordable technology helps organizations ensure the persistent authenticity of data throughout its lifecycle, regardless of where the information is stored," added Gaudet. "This persistent protection gives organizations instant indication if any changes are made and gives them a strong defense against purposeful alteration, IP theft and potential data loss, while also making it easy to show compliance with government or industry regulations." Ed Gaudet is the vice president of product management and marketing at Liquid Machines, the leader in enterprise rights management (ERM) software, where he is responsible for the company's product, marketing and business development strategy and execution.
A frequent industry speaker on the topics of regulatory compliance, information security and intellectual property protection, Gaudet has over twenty years of high-tech product management, marketing and sales experience in various start-up and public software companies including IONA, an e-business platform provider for Web services integration; SQA, Inc., an automated testing solutions provider; and Rational Software, a provider of an integrated enterprise development environment. He received his bachelor's degree from Bentley College in Waltham, Mass.
Mike Miracle is a senior technology operating executive with expertise in strategy, business development, strategic alliances (OEM and partnerships), product management and marketing, and software development. He has been an advisor to several IT infrastructure companies including Blackball, BladeLogic, Double Take (NSI Software), InterSAN (sold to Finisar), OuterBay (sold to HP), and Princeton Softech. He has served on the board of Connected Corporation (sold to Iron Mountain), Precise Software (sold to Veritas), Evident Software, Neartek (sold to EMC), Mediconnect.net (sold to private equity), and NuView (sold to Brocade). Mike was EVP of Product Management and Marketing for Evident Software.
As a VP at Veritas, he managed M&A, strategic venture investing, technology licensing, and divestitures, completing numerous transactions. Mr. Miracle has held a variety of senior technical management positions at Hewlett Packard, Novell, and Unix Systems Labs where he focused on operating systems development, product management and OEM partnerships. He started his career developing telecommunications software with AT&T Bell Labs. Mike holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master's degree from Stanford University.
About ProofSpace ProofSpace offers "legally robust" data authentication solutions that thwart fraud, provide an undeniable record of good enterprise conduct, and repudiate false legal claims. The company's patented ProofMark Transient Key technology tags electronic business records with a self-validating cryptographic seal that acts as a "tamper indicator" based on a true and provable time-reference datum, impossible to manipulate, even by trusted insiders. It instantly and irrefutably proves that the content of a record has not changed since the ProofMark was applied, no matter where the data resides or who controls it.
Industry analysts have been bullish on the young company's prospects ever since the patented underlying technology was included in the American National Standard X9.95- 2005 ("Trusted Time Stamp Management and Security") published by ANSI ASC X9, the accredited standards body for the financial services industry. In fact, ProofSpace's system was the only method recognized by the ANSI X9.95 standard that can be deployed entirely as software inside of an enterprise, without depending on an external trusted third party.
